Description

Character Drawing and Design is an online class.  This class will provide children a studio experience from their own home. All lessons will be led by our Teaching Artist Ryan Gilleece and allow your child to socialize with other students in the class. You must have internet on a device with a built in camera to participate.  When we watch a movie, play a video game, or read a book, who is it that we get attached to? The characters of course! This is a character design course designed to introduce students to more in-depth concepts in character design for books, animation, and more. We move beyond simple shape and color language to approach posing, expressions, basics of anatomy, movement, and storytelling through character design! By the end of the class, we'll have several fully developed characters, character sheets, and more, and you'll learn about what it takes to get your audience hooked on your unique and lovable - or not! - character. *This class is a part of our Certificate in Fine Arts Program and will give each student one point towards their CiFA certification. New and continuing students welcome.

2. Pencil
