Description

Acrylic Foundations is an online class.  This class will provide children a studio experience from their own home. All lessons will be led by our Teaching Artist Pratibha Raju and allow your child to socialize with other students in the class. You must have internet on a device with a built in camera to participate. Learn the basics of Acrylic painting by creating Still Life and Landscape paintings in acrylic medium on Canvas. Understand the color theory and color blending techniques. Individual guidance will be provided to understand the medium. Understanding and applying the basic elements of art to create paintings in the acrylic medium. *This class is a part of our Certificate in Fine Arts Program and will give each student one point towards their CiFA certification. 

Materials Required to Participate:

1. 4 Canvas Board or stretched canvas 11’’ by 14’’ size
2. Sketchbook
3. Drawing pencils
4. Eraser
5. Pencil Sharpener
6. Paper Towels
7. Water Cup
8. 16, 24, or 36 Acrylic Color Paint Variety Set (can be found at Michaels or other online retailers)

About the Teaching Artist
Pratibha Raju is an artist and a visual art teacher. Pratibha earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts specializing in Drawing and Painting in 1998 from India. Since then she has been practicing and teaching drawing and painting in different styles and mediums. She has exhibited her paintings in oil and acrylic at the College Annual Art Shows and at the Coram Long Island and Piscataway libraries. Her watercolor landscape paintings were selected for the Plainsboro Preserve juried art shows for the last two years. Pratibha has completed many art and teaching courses online from the British Council and Coursera. She has taught in many schools for the last 20 years including the IB school in India with an emphasis on holistic teaching.
