Description

Color and Nature is an online class.  This class will provide students a studio experience from their own homes. All lessons will be led by our Teaching Artist Emily Buchalski and allow you to socialize with other students in the class. You must have internet on a device with a built in camera to participate. Join us for our Nature and Color Class this Spring! This class is all about drawing and connecting to nature and the outdoors, and being open to learning and experimenting with new art supplies. This 8 week course will help artists to strengthen and develop their skillset of color theory to apply to their artwork, while creating nature based studies. Each student is welcome to use the 2D medium(s) and preferred brands of their choice! The first day of class, students should have a sketchbook to take notes, pencil, eraser, color mediums of choice (optional) and be ready to test out supplies the instructor will be bringing in. Students then will have a better idea of what they may want to use throughout the session and may purchase by the second class.

All the suggested mediums following will be reviewed by the instructor throughout the course. Pencils, erasers, and brushes are always good to have no matter the medium so the student can sketch and paint their work:

-chalk and soft pastels (Recommended brand: PRANG

-colored pencils (Recommended brand: prisma color premier soft core

-watercolor (Recommended brand:Yarka)

-acrylic paint (Recommended brand: windsor newton or GOLDEN)

-gouache paint (Recommended brand: Lucas)

*Remember to get the appropriate paper/canvas for the medium(s) of choice, such as Mixed media paper, canvas paper or board, watercolor paper.*
