Description
Anyone can create colorful abstract artwork with brilliant alcohol inks! Participants will be given four 4x4 inch ceramic tiles to make coasters or frameable art. The tiles will be finished with a cork base and sprayed with protective coating before the end of class.
Materials fee of $10 to be paid to the teaching artist at the start of the workshop.
Adults are now required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test taken within 2 days of the in-person event or class. Classes, workshops, and events held in all spaces at the art center and Whole World Arts utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Classes and event seating are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. Acrylic barriers are utilized, as needed. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged for all adults, and required for all youth classes. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all spaces. Youth visual arts classes have their own sanitized art supplies to be used.
About the Teaching Artist
Tess Fields is a watercolor and alcohol ink artist with a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and has worked to improve New Jersey’s environment for many years. To inspire and rejuvenate, she loves to spend time in nature and art museums. Tess served on the GSWS Board as Corresponding Secretary in 2011 and 2012, was the co-chair for the 2014 GSWS Annual Juried Show and became the president of the Garden State Watercolor Society in 2015. Three of her paintings were accepted into the 2014 show of “25 Promising Watercolor Artists” at Ellarslie Museum in Trenton. In 2021 Tess participated in a watercolor exhibit “Across the Board” with the West Windsor Arts Council. She very much enjoys creating with alcohol ink and conducting workshops.
