Description

Beginners and experienced level painters will enjoy this watercolor class. We will cover the fundamental techniques (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, masking, watercolor blooms, splatter technique) to create a successful watercolor painting. A new painting will be created every week with a focus on subjects such as landscapes, floral, and still life. New and continuing students welcome!

Materials:  Bring to first class: 9x12” watercolor paper (recommended: Strathmore brand or Canson brand); tube watercolors - small to medium set (recommended brands: Winsor and Newton, Cotman). A small tube of white acrylic paint, Watercolor brush set, palette, cup to hold water, toothbrush, masking fluid, hard board or hard cardboard to tape work down on.

Covid Protocols: Adults are now required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test taken within 2 days of the in-person event or class. Classes, workshops, and events held in all spaces at the art center and Whole World Arts utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Classes and event seating are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. Acrylic barriers are utilized, as needed. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged for all adults, and required for all youth classes. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all spaces. Youth visual arts classes have their own sanitized art supplies to be used.
