Build your drawing skills by learning and improving on technique, drawing vocabulary, and experimenting with the different drawing tools of an artist. We will explore hues, tones, shading, and light sources with drawing techniques like scribbling, cross-hatching, and stippling to create depth and draw realistic subjects by perfecting every feature with drawing skills. $45 Materials fee due on the first day of class

Covid Protocols: Classes and workshops held in all spaces at the art center and Whole World Arts utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Fresh air is introduced whenever possible. Classes are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. Acrylic barriers are utilized, as needed. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged for all adults regardless of vaccination status, and required for all youth classes. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all classrooms. Youth visual arts classes have their own sanitized art supplies to be used.

About the Teaching Artist
Emily Buchalski is a New Jersey-based artist. In May 2018, Buchalski earned her BFA, cum laude, with a concentration in sculpture, from Mason Gross School of the Arts. For years, she has gained experience teaching individuals of all ages with all different types of mediums, always making her student’s artistic needs her number one priority. She earned a position as a visual arts adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College. In her own artistic practice, Buchalski focuses on sculpture and painting. She specializes in mixing different mediums and styles to create unique pieces of artwork.
