Description
Introduction to Film is a class for new filmmakers that will meet for ten classes. The first few classes will be spent reviewing the main production values of film, including story, acting, camera work, direction and editing. The last few classes will be spent producing short films. *This class is a part of our Certificate in Fine Arts Program and will give each student one point towards their CiFA certification.

Covid Protocols: At this time, mask wearing is optional. If COVID cases increase at any point and we are recommended by local health organizations, we may return to mandatory mask wearing. Classes and workshops held in all spaces at the art center utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Fresh air is introduced whenever possible. Classes are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all classrooms.
About the Teaching Artist
Rich Coppola has been teaching at Thomas Grover Middle School since it opened in 1999. For the past 20 years he’s been teaching video and television productions to 7th and 8th grade students. He has also instructed video production summer camps and workshops for the past 15 summers at Grover Middle School and Village Elementary. Mr. Coppola’s passions are film, music and spending time at the Jersey Shore with his wife and daughter. With over 20 years of teaching and production experience Rich Coppola provides an exciting and well rounded experience for all who participate in his summer programs.
