Description

Build your drawing, painting and sculpting skills by learning and improving on technique, vocabulary, and experimenting with the different tools of an artist. We will explore hues, tones, shading, and light sources with techniques like scribbling, cross-hatching, and stippling to create depth and draw realistic subjects by perfecting every feature with our art skills. This class will explore tradition studio practices, such as still life studies, figure drawing, and painting from reference.

$50 Materials fee due on the first day of class

Covid Protocols: At this time, mask wearing is optional. If COVID cases increase at any point and we are recommended by local health organizations, we may return to mandatory mask wearing. Classes and workshops held in all spaces at the art center utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Fresh air is introduced whenever possible. Classes are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all classrooms. 

About the Teaching Artist
Emily Vaspory is a New Jersey-based artist. In May 2018, Buchalski earned her BFA, cum laude, with a concentration in sculpture, from Mason Gross School of the Arts. For years, she has gained experience teaching individuals of all ages with all different types of mediums, always making her student’s artistic needs her number one priority. She earned a position as a visual arts adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College. In her own artistic practice, Buchalski focuses on sculpture and painting. She specializes in mixing different mediums and styles to create unique pieces of artwork.
