Description

Come move and groove the Brazilian way with your child! Capoeira combines martial arts, music, dance and acrobatics to help students gain coordination, focus, agility, flexibility, teamwork and strength. Classes for this age group incorporate music, rhythm, games, creative movement, singing in Portuguese and introduction to Capoeira movements. We will focus on developing physical and sensory awareness through movement, tumbling, and sensory activities. Have fun learning and moving with your child! Registration price is for one child and one parent. For and additional child or parent, please register for one adidtional spot.

Covid Protocols: At this time, mask wearing is optional. If COVID cases increase at any point and we are recommended by local health organizations, we may return to mandatory mask wearing. Classes and workshops held in all spaces at the art center utilize an HVAC system supplemented with portable HEPA filtration systems. Fresh air is introduced whenever possible. Classes are spaced appropriately to allow 3 - 6 ft. of social distancing. All our staff and Teaching Artists have been vaccinated. High-touch surfaces are wiped down regularly using certified cleaning agents. Hand sanitizer is available in all classrooms. 

About the Teaching Artist
Levi Guerrero, also known as Cacique de Ramos, has practiced the art of Capoeira for many years and is an instructor affiliated with Grupo Senzala from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under the guidance of Mestre Zumbi. Mr. Guerrero has been teaching Capoeira since 2006 in various locations in central and southern New Jersey. Primarily, he seeks to develop the mental and physical capabilities of young people through Capoeira while simultaneously exposing them to the cultural heritage of Africa and Brazil.
