Summary

This is a great way to learn the basics of drawing like free hand drawing, pencil shading in 2D and 3D forms, still life, conceptual and creative drawing, and many more. Explore the world of design by practicing the different types of designs like geometric, symmetric, floral and free hand designs. Learn the elements of visual arts and practice new techniques. The importance of each element - line, shape, form, texture and space will be emphasized.

Description

About the Teaching Artist: Pratibha is an artist and a visual art teacher. She received a Bachelor's in Fine Arts (Painting) in 1998 from India. Since then she has been practicing and teaching painting in different styles.  She has worked in many different schools, including St. Paul`s English School and Oakridge International School, India and Hindi USA in Piscataway.

She has been working on an Indian art called the Mysore Traditional. This art form began in India around 16th century. These paintings are done with watercolors and have a unique technique which involves using pure gold on the painting. She also works on figurative compositions in oils and watercolors inspired by artists like Nikhil Ranjan Pal, Amrita Sher-Gil, Manet, Paul Cezanne and many more artists which have a touch of the Indian Traditional art. She likes to explore the place of women in the society and how they are influenced by the society.
