Tuesdays: Studio Art Fundamentals One [7-10]

In this fundamentals class, students will be introduced to techniques in drawing, watercolor, acrylic paint, and sculpture. Starting with graphite pencils and oil pastels, Jessica will show students how to draw using basic shapes and how to bring drawings to life by adding light, shadow, and texture.

Students will transition to watercolor and acrylic painting, learning how to mix paint colors and build value and details layer by layer in their paintings. Finally, students will learn about sculpture using air dry clay. They will be introduced to important clay techniques including coil building and pinching. By the end of the course, students will leave with new skills and most importantly have fun exploring their creativity.

A one-time materials fee of $50 is due on the first day of class.
