Tuesdays: Studio Art Fundamentals Two [10-13]

In this fundamentals class, students will build upon their techniques in drawing, watercolor, acrylic paint, and sculpture. Starting with graphite pencils, colored pencils, and charcoal, Jessica will show students how to develop value and texture using techniques such as stippling, hatching, cross-hatching, and blending. Students will transition to watercolor, deepening their understanding of washes, texture, and how to make colors darker and lighter.

Students will then move onto acrylic painting to learn more about the color wheel, complementary colors, and how to use them in a still life painting. Finally, students will work with air dry clay to strengthen their understanding of clay techniques including coil building, slab building, and slip and scoring.

A one-time materials fee of $50 is due on the first day of class.
