Summary

Create a unique handmade wall pocket while exploring the versatility of air-dry clay in this three-session workshop designed for adults of all skill levels. Participants will learn hand-building techniques to shape and construct a decorative wall-mounted vessel, with guidance on forming, adding texture, and incorporating creative details to personalize their piece.

After allowing the clay to dry, the final session will focus on painting, finishing, and sealing the wall pocket using a variety of decorative techniques to enhance color, texture, and durability. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed functional artwork ready to display and the skills to continue creating with air-dry clay at home.

No prior experience is necessary.

Supply list to bring to class on first day:
Crayola Air-Dry Clay (2.5 lb or 5 lb tub, white or terracotta)
Kemper Pottery Toolkit or S & E Pottery Toolkit
Slabmat (can choose any size)
