About the Teaching Artist

Bailey is from a small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania. She studied fine arts and graphic design. Since 2015 she has been working and creating in central New Jersey. She has served on multiple arts councils and is now serving as Chair for the Plumsted Township Council of the Arts. Bailey is a people person and much of her work is portrait or figurative in nature. Her ambitions are being realized as she teaches and manages Leaping Dog Art Studio in Bordentown New Jersey. Bailey is known to have her hand in many different art mediums but finds she is happiest when painting and drawing. When it comes to her artwork her ambitions are to explore, play, and continuously create. Bailey does not believe in perfection nor does she strive to achieve it. Bailey believes every artwork is a learning experience to grow and gain from. She draws influences from new and past experiences as well as contemporary artists and art-making methods. Bailey is mindful in creating art and in teaching it. She believes having fun, freedom, and flow while creating. During the process she practices critical thinking about the process, materials, or ideas to fully realize her ambition. She is working with the Plumsted Township Council for the Arts to create street art murals. During the lockdown of 2020 she worked with another artist to create temporary small-scale murals of hope and inspiration to display within her town. She is also working with a Princeton based author to illustrate a children’s book. Bailey enjoys teaching, being a part of a community and bringing people together in the name of art and creation. Bailey’s ambition continues to grow and change with the world around her. Her work can be found on Facebook or Instagram @createambition.
