Description: The mill house in Grovers Mill, New Jersey, from across Bear Brook. Constructed in 1759, it was recently converted into apartments, and lost much of its charm in the process. In 1938, Orson Wells Broadcast the "Martian landing" at Grovers Mill on the radio, worldwide.

Artist Statement: "Grovers Mill" attracted me for its mixture of natural features with vintage architecture. A spot across the creek from the mill house allowed me to include elements of vegetation and water. I sketched the scene on canvas with charcoal. I returned many consecutive days to gradually bring all of the details to focus in oil. I finished the detailing by painting the water coming under the bridge.Bio: My art training included time at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and studies with James Hanes and Paul Gorka.
