Artist Statement: Canal Reflections. Painted "en plein air" along with River Rats, I was struck by the beauty of the D&R Canal in Lambertville on a warm, sunny, early autumn day. My view had the Delaware River on my left and Finkle's Hardware on my right diagonally behind me.

Bio: As an art teacher now retired, I have resumed my painting career with much excitement. I retired seven years ago after teaching art at Montgomery Township Schools for twenty years, assorted other public and private schools for a career spanning thirty-five years. Steering me back to the artist within, I am grateful for a fellowship with the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation as artist-educator with a grant that enabled me to participate in numerous travel excursions and mini-grants and to discover art resources and instructors in this area since I grew up in Pittsburgh, spent time in California and Lancaster (PA), and eventually settled in the Lambertville area in 1996. Exhibiting now, I have been in numerous juried shows such as Phillips' Mill, Ellarslie, D&R Greenway, New Hope Arts, West Windsor Arts and Artsbridge. I have had the honor of receiving several art awards at juried exhibitions. Since retiring, I have had two solo exhibits, one at the Present Day Club, Princeton and the other at the Bank of Princeton, Lambertville. A two-month duo show in Lambertville began early spring of 2020 but was taken down abruptly due to COVID. My undergraduate degree is in art education from Pennsylvania State University, and a master's degree is in dance from Temple. Artists Gerd Koch & Carlisle Cooper, California; Micheal Madigan & Charles Vierra, New Jersey; and Tim Hawkesworth & Lala Zeitland, Pennsylvania are my most influential teachers.
