Morning on the Lake by Lori Langsner
Medium: oil on canvas
Dimensions: 20 x 16 inches
Location: Boathouse in Mercer County Park
Year created: 2022
Artist Statement: The early morning light dancing upon the water intrigued me as I wandered the park grounds. Trying to capture the essence of the light throughout the landscape I used the quick loose brushstrokes of the Impressionists. When painting “en plein air”, I become one with nature and my surroundings. The brilliant sunlight, gentle breezes, quiet sounds, light reflections and the fresh air all create a wonderful sense of inner peace.
