Artist Statement: "We Got the Beat" is one of a series of paintings of people dancing. They are a response to a line from T.S.Eliot's "Four Quartets."

Bio: Anne Elliott has had one-person exhibitions at the Graham Gallery in New York, The Westmoreland, Johnstown, and Blair Museums in Pennsylvania, The Hewlett Gallery of Carnegie-Mellon and the Center for the Arts at SUNY Purchase, among others. In New York she has shown her work at the Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, Graham Gallery, CDS Gallery, Soho20 Gallery, and others. Regionally, her work has appeared in group shows at the Carnegie Museum, The Fine Arts Museum of Long Island, The New Jersey Center for Visual Arts in Summit, School 33 Art Center in Baltimore, the Robeson Gallery at Penn State, and The Ellarslie Museum of Trenton. While living in Pennsylvania, Elliott received a fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
