Rose Water by Zakia Aziz Ahmed
Medium: mixed media
20 x 16 inches
Artist Statement: In my painting, “Rose Water,” I tried to express the importance and popularity of Rose Water since ancient times, until today and most probably it will continue to be used and benefited in the future. Rose Water is widely used all over the world in food preparation for essence as it is natural and has no side effects. It is used in lotion, cream, makeup and medicine as well. It is also used in the home for fragrance and soothing effects, especially in many Asian countries. I have tried to capture the bright colors and swirly movement of roses. I used rose water to paint it and I can smell real roses.
