Ruins of Minster Lovell Hall by Sonya Legg
Medium: watercolor
6.5 x 8.5 inches
Artist Statement: Ruins of Minster Lovell Hall, Cotswolds, in winter sunlight: Minster Lovell Hall, in the Cotswolds in rural England, was built in the 1400s, but fell into ruin by the 18th century. I visited on a sunny winter's day when bare tree branches cast shadows on the warm sandstone and the blue sky was visible through the gothic windows.
Bio: I have been painting watercolors since I was a child, but recently returned to it after a long hiatus thanks to West Windsor Arts classes. This is the second time I have submitted work to the members' art show.
