Artist Statement: The Trees Abide, Snow covers everything, and yet even with the heaviest snowfall the trees peek through. Even as everything changes, the trees abide.
Bio: Eleni Zatz Litt (EZL Studio) is a teaching artist in Central New Jersey and the Inaugural Artist-in-Residence at The Athena Advisors (a consulting firm supporting social justice initiatives and organizations to enhance and maximize their fundraising strategy and success). She has Certificates in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design, and Creative Arts Therapies from The New School, as well as a PhD in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics. Her approach to teaching creates communities of creative practice for artists and non-artists alike that encourages inquiry, curiosity, and play. She has shown her work since 2006 in over 100 shows (a mix of juried and non-juried) in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, with a solo show in Princeton in 2013. Most recently she has developed a Nature Journaling class, in collaboration and partnership with the Rutgers Environmental Stewards Program, where she is completing her internship as a Rutgers Environmental Steward.
