Fall Reflection by Jennifer Tungol
giclee, 15 x 10 inches
Artist Statement: This is a series of photographs taken one day in Autumn 2022, when a post Halloween summer spell confounded New Jerseyans. What to do on a day like this? How about a walk at a ghost town in summer shirts after Halloween? A bright picnic over crunchy fall leaves in the heart of the Pinelands? A debate on the effects of climate change while at a historic place on a summer-like day in November? A photography moment at an old grist mill's window catching fall reflections under blue skies instead of autumn haze? All these questions, answered in one weird day at Batsto Village, Wharton State Forest, NJ.
Change may be brewing in current weather patterns, but through State, private and public support, Batsto Village can remain to be well-preserved as it is now and for more centuries to come -- for all to visit and enjoy in any type of day, no matter what season.
