Artist Statement: The red ribbons must have been left from a winter wedding in Sayen Gardens, which made for a bright, hopeful scene in the winter snow at this Temple Garden gazebo.
Bio: I am primarily a watercolorist of natural landscapes. I occasionally paint en plein air, sketch in pencil, homemade walnut ink, Sumi or India ink. I also paint in acrylic or water-based oil.
I have exhibited my paintings with these groups/venues in NJ & PA: AOY Art Center; Artworks Trenton; Bordentown Historical Society and Garden Tour; Chesterfield Historical Society; D&R Greenway Land Trust; Garden State Watercolor Society; Gourgaud Gallery, Cranbury; Lambertville Shadfest Art Auction; Mercer County Artists; Middletown Arts Center; NJ State History Fair Exhibit; Phillips Mill; Prallsville Mills; Ocean County Artists Guild; Ocean County Library System; West Windsor Arts Center Whole World Arts, and William Trent House;. I have had two solo exhibitions at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, Hamilton, and at Gourgaud Gallery, Cranbury. I was recently accepted into the North East Watercolor Society’s International Exhibition in Kent, CT.
I teach the Art of Watercolor at West Windsor Senior Center on Thursdays (all levels), and periodically hold an Art in the Marsh series class (Painting Wildflower Cards, Drawing Trees, Sketching Fall Leaves etc.) for Friends for the Abbott Marshlands at Tulpehaking Nature Center. I have been on the board of Garden State Watercolor Society for 14 years, and the Friends for the Abbott Marshlands for the last 6 years.
