Artist Statement: This picture was taken at Monet's home and garden site in Giverny, France, April 2023 during a family trip celebrating our wedding anniversary. I was drawn to paint this picture because of the beautiful reflection of the plants on the water. It was a breathtaking scene. We truly enjoyed touring Monet's home, garden and village. Everything was in full bloom.
Bio: I developed a love for oil painting while attending my first art class at the West Windsor Library in 2011. After that class, I connected with the West Windsor Arts Council. I have since studied oil painting with Zakia Ahmed for several years. I enjoy exploring new techniques and mixing vivid colors for a variety of landscape and seascape paintings. The first public showing of art I created at the Center was in January 2014 for the
"Out of the Blue Art" Show. I have been fortunate to participate in other Student Faculty Art Shows and private shows with other artists at the West Windsor Library. My most recent showing was a self portrait displayed this summer at the Center. Today, I continue to study and learn with each new semester. I am very grateful for Zakia and her outstanding artistic guidance.
