Artist Statement: Backyard Peonies is from my favorite garden. All summer long this is my place of solace and calm. This piece involves layers of digital images, applied colors with acrylic paint, and various textures and lace papers. With its large, beautiful blooms, Peonies are a plant that draws attention until the first heavy spring rain.
Bio: Kimberly began her photography career as a commercial photographer. She has photographed for major corporations, advertising agencies and editorial publications. Her work has won several awards including inclusion in the book and exhibition Ten Thousand Eyes, ASMP and was awarded the Award of Excellence from Communication Arts Photography Annual. As an artist, her work is inspired from her perception of nature and her photography, often combining the two. She currently works for West Windsor Arts.
