Artist Statement: In contrast to Aftermath, this print is about playing and playing and energy. Also experimentation, as I began to explore ways of using a relief plate that diverge from the classic, clean print.
Bio: I studied art at Grinnell College (BA) and Hunter College, (MA) and also studied art history/literature on a Fulbright Grant in Munich. Drawing, in its broadest sense, has always been central to my work regardless of medium. These days, my work is largely about combining elements that would not often be seen as fitting together, which is how I make sense of the frequently chaotic world we live in. My work has been shown regionally, both invitationally (e.g., a 3-person show at the Arts Council of Princeton, a solo show at the Brodsky Gallery of Chauncey Conference Center) and in juried shows such as “Layers” at Site:Brooklyn, the Ellarslie Open in multiple years, Manifesting Beloved Community (twice) at WWA, and various other juried group exhibitions. Other factors in my work are my humanist background and a fascination with the intersection of text and image.
