Challenge by Judy Tyndall
Kiln-formed glass
16 x 18 inches
Artist Statement: This piece was made using scraps and remains from other pieces. The challenge to use leftover glass is significant. Our planet can't accomodate more garbage if we expect to have a clean place for all species to live. As far as design, the negative space is equally as important as the negative space. The positive and negative spaces support oneanother. I am drawn to symmetry and ' balance' in $my work, and this piece reflects that tendency.
Bio: I went to school the School of Visual Arts, studying painting and sculpture. Ten years ago I became interested in fused glass as a medium and have worked almost exclusively in that medium since.
