Autumn Sunlight by Lori Langsner
oil on canvas board
9 x 12 inches
Statement: Summer fading into autumn was captured at Washington Crossing State Park. The brilliant sunlight of early morning enhanced the vibrancy of the ever-changing autumn leaves. While painting “en plein air”, I was able to capture and experience the beauty of this quiet peaceful morning.
Bio: After a rewarding career in art education, I’ve now moved my focus back to my own personal artwork. As a resident of West Windsor, I’ve continued my studies at Art Students League, Princeton Arts Council, and Mercer County Community College. My focus is “en plein air” and still life paintings in oils. While painting “en plein air”, I become one with nature and my surroundings. The gentle breeze, the quiet sounds, and the fresh air all create a wonderful sense of inner peace and tranquility. With dancing brushstrokes across my canvas, I am able to express a present moment in time. When viewing my paintings, I hope that gentle, poetic experience of nature and art transcends. I am presently teaching “Art of Oil Painting” to adults at West Windsor Arts Council.
