Statement: As I was driving through Hightstown, NJ, the brilliant yellow house among the lavender wisteria and white hydrangeas immediately distracted me. I had to stop and photo this scene, knowing one day I would paint it. Capturing the essence of this beautiful day, experiencing warm temperature, and sunny skies only enhanced my final outcome.
Bio: After a rewarding career in art education, I’ve now moved my focus back to my own personal artwork. As a resident of West Windsor, I’ve continued my studies at Art Students League, Princeton Arts Council, and Mercer County Community College. My focus is “en plein air” and still life paintings in oils. While painting “en plein air”, I become one with nature and my surroundings. The gentle breeze, the quiet sounds, and the fresh air all create a wonderful sense of inner peace and tranquility. With dancing brushstrokes across my canvas, I am able to express a present moment in time. When viewing my paintings, I hope that gentle, poetic experience of nature and art transcends. I am presently teaching “Art of Oil Painting” to adults at West Windsor Arts Council.
