Statement: In my work, I merge the technical acumen gleaned from the depths of the hardware lab with the frustrations of troubleshooting software bugs. This unique fusion births a new kind of 'bug'—one that embraces the errors I once sought to eliminate. Each piece is a testament to the beauty found in what was once discarded: computer parts and electronic scraps that were destined for the landfill now find new purpose as art. These "bugs," crafted from components of obsolete technology, symbolize both the residue of my software career and the rebirth of these materials into something profoundly new.
Bio: Cindy, a seasoned software engineer and passionate artist, has made a remarkable transition from the tech world to the art world. A proud graduate of both West Windsor High School and Princeton University, her career began in the software industry where she spent nearly 30 years crafting satellite flight software and cutting-edge security solutions.
In 2017, after a fulfilling career in technology, Cindy decided to pivot towards her creative passions. Embracing her artistic side, she began exploring the right half of her brain with a focus on Found-Item art and woodworking. Her new artistic endeavors involve repurposing discarded materials that would otherwise end up in landfills or burn pits, transforming them into unique and meaningful pieces of art.
Her work has found a home in several small, locally owned shops in central New Jersey, where her art has been warmly received by the community. Additionally, she has showcased her creations at the Acorn Arts Market, further establishing her presence in the local art scene. Her dedication to sustainability and creativity shines through in her pieces, reflecting both her commitment to the environment and her artistic vision.
Now residing in Allentown, NJ, she continues to inspire and engage with her artwork, after having lived in West Windsor for over 40 years.
