Artist Statement: My name is Ofrat Gilady-Sten, I am a ceramic artist and a jeweler. I work at my home studio in Watchung, NJ. My creations in clay are unique and one-of-a-kind artworks that can be part of one’s house décor. In recent years, the objects I create are fired in kilns that are fueled by wood and gas.
My extensive background in textiles, visual arts and my world art history studies have influenced my works over the years. I continue to explore material, color, shape, and techniques in my works in clay as well as in my silver jewelry. Designing silver jewelry links to the process I have when I think of my objects in clay. Engaging in building and making a piece of art fills me with a sense of content.
