Artist Statement: I took a picture at a look-out point in early July 2024 while vacationing with family in California. There were several breathtaking scenes of natural beauty. I always enjoyed seeing different landscapes and seascapes on my travels. This one, in particular, kind of motivated me to get back in the swing of painting and focus on the details instead of just the big picture.
Bio: I have had the privilege of participating in oil painting classes at the Center for over 11 years. I fell in love with oil painting because it allows one to transform their thoughts, feelings and emotions in living color onto the canvas. My art has been featured in several art shows at the Center. I enjoy exploring new techniques and colors with my teacher, mentor and friend, Zakia Ahmed. l always look forward to upcoming classes and new ways of expressing different aspects of my life in living color on canvas.
