Artist Statement: "The Crying Wall," uses texture, color, and form to create a powerful visual and emotional experience. The centerpiece has a layered surface with earthy tones—browns, beiges, and whites. Colors transition from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom, leading viewers through crying and weeping emotions. While creating this piece, I was able to release some of my emotions in order to find peace.
Bio: As an award winning, abstract painter, collage and mixed media artist, my work is a harmonious fusion of textured and handmade papers, fabrics and unique ephemera from household items, fairs, and antique shops. Through their integration, a captivating low lying relief is formed. With acrylic as my medium of choice, my paintings exude intuitive and expressive movements, with vibrant colors and textures. Other pursuits of artistic process include water marble, monoprints, encaustic and fluid painting.
