Artist Statement: This piece evolved over time. It started as a class demo to show different ways of adhering paper onto canvas. I put it aside until a few weeks ago when the colors of the original collaged pieces (a torn-up world map) called out for more in the present moment. Over the past few weeks, I added pieces from another torn map​, along with colors suggesting the richness of the beautiful waters that cover most of our precious earth.
