Artist Statement: This piece started life as a collaged journal page in response to Eleni's wonderful prompt of flying. Matisse's artwork served as the inspiration behind the piece. I took the journal spread home and imagined it as a message sent through time where Matisse essentially said don't sweat it, I was figuring it out as I went along too!
