Artist Statement: As a big fan of Claude Monet's, when I saw this painting of his in class this past winter it just seemed to be the right thing to paint. I'll be going to Paris this August for the first time and visiting Monet's home in Giverney. This was quite a challenge for me to try to capture color the way that he did.
