Cranky Cronies - Bennett by Carol Schepps
Most of the time Bennett is quite serious. Every once in a while though, he likes to kick up his legs and dance about in his jazzy silver denim pants.
Material: cotton and two button eyes. poly stuffing.
Dimensions or size: 14.75"
Artisan Statement: Cranky Cronies developed one morning in my studio when I heard noise from inside my closets. I swung open the doors and heard fabric, yarn, buttons and stuffing. I took a deep breath as the disembodied voices filled my head. I reached in, grabbed what I could and went for the scissors and thread. One by one I freed these Cranky Cronies from their inert state. I gave them life and a hope for happier lives with others. Every so often I hear them again and another batch of Cranky Cronies gets set free.
Artisan Bio: Early in my art career I was involved in fashion design. I went on to designing and constructing art quilts which were sold to private collectors and corporations through galleries throughout the US. This work led to designing rugs, pillows and throws for Crate and Barrel. I recently began constructing clutch wallets and bags using top quality fabrics. The other side of my studio is now dedicated to mixed media artwork. I am a founder of the WWAC.
