Artist’s Statement: Micron is one of the first pieces in my abstract puddle architecture series.
Artist’s Bio:Born in Fort Dix, NJ, C.a. Shofed’s parents were in the military, He spent his early years in Germany. He studied Graphic Arts at Assunpink Vocational School, moving into Advertising Design in college, his first formal exposure to photography. Before he had a real chance to explore photography as a career, he took a job as a computer installer and never looked back, spending the next 25 years as an IT Professional.Although his professional life had focused on technology, he maintained an interest in photography, always carrying his camera with him. It was Craig’s second kidney transplant and a move to Trenton, NJ that inspired him to leave the technology field become an artist. Based out of Trenton artist C.a. Shofed had his first month-long exhibit called “Double Take” in 2012. C.a. Shofed’s work seeks to bring attention to ordinary objects pressured by nature and time. His art has sometimes been described as “industrial meets nature.” In 2017 Shofed’s work began to shift, morphing into something more abstract with his Reflection-ism series. C.a. Shofed’s art has been exhibited and sold in galleries and museums across the globe including Philadelphia, New York, San Diego, Toronto, London and Glasgow.
