SUMMARY:Friday: Beyond the Lines (Ages 13-18)
DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Lines is a graphite and charcoal drawing class that explores the expressive, non-linear elements of drawing. Through studies of light and shadow, composition, gesture, notans, and the visual language of shape and form, participants will learn to observe more intentionally and create drawings with greater depth, clarity, and impact. Emphasis will be placed on understanding value relationships, simplifying complex forms, and using expressive mark-making to communicate volume and atmosphere. Participants can expect to leave with a strong understanding of the differences between hard, soft, and lost edges, along with the confidence to use them intentionally to guide the viewer's eye and strengthen their drawings.
