Have you ever wanted to make impactful art but felt you weren't "artistic enough"? Mixed media is an approachable and therapeutic art form that combines several different techniques and methods into one practice. In this six-session course, you'll explore acrylic paint, mediums, and collage while creating engaging works of art. No prior drawing or painting experience is necessary, just a willingness to experiment and have fun. By the end of the course, you'll have completed several original pieces and gained the confidence to continue creating on your own.

A one-time materials fee of $50 is due on the first day of class.

Create a unique handmade wall pocket while exploring the versatility of air-dry clay in this three-session workshop designed for adults of all skill levels. Participants will learn hand-building techniques to shape and construct a decorative wall-mounted vessel, with guidance on forming, adding texture, and incorporating creative details to personalize their piece.

After allowing the clay to dry, the final session will focus on painting, finishing, and sealing the wall pocket using a variety of decorative techniques to enhance color, texture, and durability. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed functional artwork ready to display and the skills to continue creating with air-dry clay at home.

No prior experience is necessary.

Students will learn how to apply the fundamentals of color theory, color qualities, value, saturation, temperature, color harmony and expression. We will address painting in a personal and informed way, whether working from observation, imagination, or abstraction. Using your own personal subject matter as inspiration, such as a picture or photo that means something to you, still life arrangements of objects that are meaningful, or a famous artist’s style you might want to explore, you will create inspiring pieces of work.

Students may work in realistic or abstract painting styles and learn a range of techniques. Individual guidance, feedback, and group critiques will help students articulate their creative challenges and strengths and learn to handle compositional challenges in their paintings. Various styles and methods of master painters and movements, traditional through contemporary, will be referenced. New and continuing students welcome. Please bring your own painting supplies to each class.

This class offers artists the opportunity to develop their skills in drawing the human form through direct observation of live models. Each session will explore proportion, gesture, anatomy, and composition, with an emphasis on capturing the structure and expression of the figure and face. Students will work with a variety of drawing media such as graphite, charcoal, and pastel. Demonstrations, short warm-up poses, and longer studies will help participants refine both technical ability and personal style. All levels are welcome—from beginners eager to learn the fundamentals to experienced artists wishing to strengthen their figure and portrait drawing practice!

Beginners and experienced painters alike will enjoy this engaging watercolor class. Students will learn and practice fundamental watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, masking, watercolor blooms, and splatter effects, while creating a beautiful finished painting each week. Projects will explore a variety of subjects, such as landscapes, florals, animals, and more, helping students build confidence and expand their artistic skills.

Materials to bring to first class: 9x12” watercolor paper (recommended: Strathmore brand or Canson brand); tube or pan watercolors (depending on student preference and budget) - small to medium set (recommended brands: Winsor and Newton, Cotman, Sargent). Autumn can mean apple-picking, farmers’ markets, crisp afternoons, and hiking trails beneath brilliantly colored leaves. It can also be the season of haunted houses, black cats, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, and moonlit gravestones. Whether you’re drawn to the warmth and abundance of the harvest or the mystery and magic of Halloween, this workshop invites you to celebrate the side of autumn that inspires you most, or even combine both in your artwork.


Students will create two pieces during the workshop: one small free-standing sculpture made from found objects and one wall-hanging assemblage. Instruction in attachment techniques will be provided, with tools and adhesives available for use in class. Bases, frames, LED lights, and a wide variety of seasonal and thematic materials will be supplied, though you are encouraged to bring any special objects, keepsakes, or found materials you would like to incorporate into your work. Both beginners and returning students are welcome. Projects are individualized, allowing each participant to work at their own pace while exploring their own creative vision.

Take your painting to the next level in this guided studio designed for intermediate and advanced oil painters. Work alongside a supportive community of fellow artists while exploring painting challenges tailored to your individual interests, goals, and experience. As needed, you'll review essential concepts such as composition, light and shadow, perspective, and color theory to strengthen your technical skills.

Students are welcome to work on independent projects or draw inspiration from instructor-led prompts. With personalized guidance from Zakia, you'll refine your technique, expand your creative practice, and continue developing your own unique artistic style. New and returning students are welcome.

Materials: Pre-stretched canvas (16x20 inches or smaller); oil painting set (suggested: Reeves brand, 12 colors); bristle or nylon oil brush set, linseed oils (smaller size); pencil; eraser; palette (disposable is fine)

Making marks on the page can be fun, relaxing, and even a form of meditation. Whether it’s a scribble or an accurate representation of what you see, the results can provide opportunities for pleasure, reflection, conversation, and healing. Join Eleni to explore drawing, painting, and collage from a variety of perspectives and to discover your own unique entry points into art-making. This accessible approach relies not only on direct observation, but also on imagination, intuition, memory, and noticing what works best for you.

Whether or not you think of yourself as an artist, you'll find yourself letting go into a process that involves developing skills, expressing yourself, and just playing around. There will be prompts so that you never need to look at the blank page, as well as quotes and poems related to a theme, as well as occasional demos of techniques. All are welcome as we each start from where we are - learning the skills we need along the way to express ourselves freely.

This class can be repeated, as themes, techniques, and approaches vary each session in response to student suggestions; new and continuing students are welcome to join this creative community!

Eleni Z. Litt (EZL Studio) is a teaching artist, anthropologist, and lifelong learner, with a keen interest in the intersection between art and science. She loves to make art in community, sharing an approach that encourages curiosity and close observation in a non-judgmental and playful setting for artists and non-artists alike.

Eleni teaches at the West Windsor Arts Center and the Princeton Adult School; she is a frequent presenter and participant in John Muir Laws’ Nature Journaling Educators Forum https://johnmuirlaws.com/. She shows her work in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and is also involved in Artist Trading Cards, Mail Art, and Sequential Art (ie Comics!).

Eleni has Certificates in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design, and Creative Arts Therapies from The New School, as well as a PhD in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics (UK). She is a Rutgers Environmental Steward, as well as a Certified Nature Journaling Educator with John Muir Laws and wildwonder.org. She served as the Inaugural Artist-in-Residence at The Athena Advisors.

No experience is necessary to join this fun and welcoming class. You'll learn to dance with confidence and ease for weddings, parties, cruises, and other social events. This beginner-friendly course covers Ballroom Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Swing, and more.

Each two-hour session includes one hour of group instruction followed by one hour of guided practice. During the instructional portion, you'll learn how to recognize which dance best matches the music, master the basic steps and patterns of each dance, and develop essential leading and following skills. The guided practice session gives you the opportunity to reinforce what you've learned while instructors are available to provide individual assistance and answer questions.

By the end of the program, you'll have the skills and confidence to enjoy one of the many social dances open to the public. Couples and singles are welcome, and no partner is required.

In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of traditional basket weaving while creating your own handmade basket from start to finish. Students will be introduced to essential weaving terms, techniques, and design elements, as well as how to properly prepare and work with basket-making materials. The class will cover the process of laying out a sturdy base with an integrated handle, weaving a simple pattern, and using basic weaving tools effectively.

Along the way, you'll have opportunities to make the basket your own by choosing design elements such as weaver spacing, color combinations, and overall dimensions, creating a piece that reflects your personal style. As you progress through the project, you will learn how to turn and shape the sides of the basket, create and finish a rim row, and use specialized tools such as a shave pony and shave knife to shape and refine the rim. The class will also cover techniques for lashing the rim securely and adding the final finishing touches to complete a functional, handcrafted basket that is uniquely yours while showcasing your newly developed weaving skills.

Create a beautiful, seamless felted bag from natural wool fibers while learning the timeless art of wet felting. This hands-on, two-day workshop (three hours per session) is designed for beginners as well as those with some fiber art experience who would like to expand their skills.

You'll learn the complete wet felting process, from selecting and arranging wool fibers to building a seamless resist, creating shape and structure, and transforming loose fibers into a strong, durable fabric. Along the way, you'll explore techniques for achieving smooth surfaces, incorporating color and design, and shaping and finishing your bag for both beauty and function.

Throughout the workshop, you'll gain an understanding of wool's unique felting properties, discover tips for creating sturdy yet lightweight vessels, and learn finishing techniques that can be applied to future felt-making projects. By the end of the second session, you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind handcrafted felted bag and the confidence and foundational skills to continue exploring the creative possibilities of wet felting on your own.
